

TRANSPORT BOOKING + PROCESS

The paying client contacts Summit Pet Services with exact pick-up and drop-off addresses, the number of animals to be transported, description, and weight(s).

Summit Pet Services will provide the client with a cost proposal based on the information provided at the time of booking. Proposals are calculated on a combination of time and mileage, in addition to the number and type of animals to be transported.

Any changes must be communicated in advance of pick-up and may change the proposal. Summit Pet Services retains the right to refuse transport if the animal(s) are not as described. Pick-up contacts/Breeders/Sellers guarantee that the animal(s) to be transported have updated vaccinations, are not ill or injured, and do not have a bite or aggression history.

Pick-up and delivery dates will be confirmed between all contacts. Once dates are confirmed, it is assumed that all financial transactions have been completed between the sending and receiving parties (if applicable).

The day prior to pick-up, Summit Pet Services will reach out to both contacts to confirm details. Exact pick-up and delivery addresses, cell phone and e-mail information will be confirmed for all contacts, along with back-up contact information, in case of emergency.

On the day of pick-up, once Summit Pet Services is en route, the transport driver will notify all contacts.

Upon pick-up, the sending contact will be required to complete paperwork confirming the details about the animal and the receiving contact and location. The receiving contact will be notified with a photo of the animal, a copy of the paperwork, and an estimated time of arrival. If unavoidable delays (weather, traffic) prevent an on-time arrival, the transport driver will provide a text or call along the way with updates to all contacts.

If the transport requires an overnight stay, the transport driver will stay in a pet-friendly hotel. Animals will be transported into and out of the hotel in a pet carrier and will be secured in a soft kennel inside the hotel room. The animal(s) will be given an opportunity to move around, play, eat, drink and given relief breaks during the overnight stay. At no time, will the animal ever be left alone in the hotel. Both parties will be notified of the city/location of the hotel and be notified again once transport has resumed.

Upon delivery of transport, the receiving party will sign paperwork acknowledging receipt of the animal and complete any financial transactions with Summit Pet Services. A photo of the animal and receiving party will be sent to the sending party for confirmation the transport has been completed.

PAYMENT TERMS + METHODS​

When transports are booked directly through Summit Pet Services, 50% of the proposed costs are due at the time of booking confirmation, with the balance due upon completion of delivery.

When the transport is booked through a Third-Party App, payment is made through the App portal according to the App's terms.

For Deposits and Third Party Apps, payment via Zelle is preferred, Venmo is also accepted.

For Balance Payments due upon delivery, payment via Cash or Zelle is preferred, Venmo is also accepted.

Because transports are often interstate, no personal checks are accepted.

Tips are not expected, but greatly appreciated.

CANCELLATION + RESCHEDULING

Once a transport is confirmed, other transport opportunities for that driver are declined. Because of this, a 50% deposit is required to secure the transport driver and dates. Once the deposit is paid, if the transport is cancelled by the client, the deposit is retained by Summit Pet Services as a cancellation fee. If a transport needs to be rescheduled by the client, new transport dates are subject to availability of the driver. If a new transport schedule cannot be agreed upon, then the cancellation policy applies.

Once transport is confirmed, Summit Pet Services will not cancel the transport unless there is a critical medical emergency or if weather along the transport route makes it unsafe to travel. If the transport is cancelled by Summit Pet Services, then a full refund of any deposit paid will be refunded back to the client via the method of payment.
